New Species of Triassic Marine Reptile Found

Paleontologists have described a model new species of pachypleurosaur from the Middle Triassic of southwestern China.

Dianmeisaurus mutaensis lived in what’s now China all through the Anisian age of the Middle Triassic epoch, spherical 245 million years previously.

The crew’s analysis recovered the model new species as a sister group to Dianmeisaurus gracilisa small pachypleurosaur from the Middle Triassic Luoping biota.
